Visa |
A visa is required
to visit Nepal (apart from Indian Nationals),
it can be obtained before you travel at the nearest
Nepalese Embassy or Consulate to you. The visa
is valid for travel to Nepal for six months, the
cost is $30 for two months stay. Visa’s
can be extended for a further two months from
the Department of Immigration either in Kathmandu
or Pokhara. The maximum stay in one calendar year
is 120 days**.Alternatively you can obtain a thirty
day visa on arrival USD30, either at the airport
or through one of the land entry points. It can
also be extended on the same terms as mentioned
above. Tourists passing through are allowed three
days visa gratis. Tourists coming from South Asian
countries (SAARC) as well as the neighbouring
People’s Republic of China are not required
to pay for their visa.
**It is possible to extend up to 150 days in one
calendar year providing you can show a valid air
ticket with a suitable departure date |

- Multiple entry facility can be obtained by

paying US$50 for 30 days.
- Trekking Permits are not required for Everest,
Annapurna and Langtang areas. Conservation fees

Marriage
Visas
For those married toa Nepali citizen
and wanting to stay in Nepal for as long as they
like without getting a Nepali passport and giving
up their country of birth passport, a non-tourist
marriage can be obtained. Changing from a tourist
visa to a non-tourist visa is often a lengthy
process. You need to visit the Department of Immigration
office next to the tourist visa office in Bhrikuti
Mandap to collect a form for a non-tourist visa.

- Photocopies of your own and your partner’s

Study Visa
Foreign students, research scholars, teachers and
their family members who want to study, teach or
conduct research work in any educational institute
having obtained the approval of the Government can
apply for a study visa.

Eligibility: Foreign investor and persons involved
in trade and commerce.

Gratis Visa |
- Children below 10 years.
- Dependents up to the age of 16 years, holding
foreign passports of Nepalese parents or either
parent being a Nepalese citizen.
- Citizen of Nepali origin, after having obtained
passport for the first time from a Nepal based
foreign mission, until the period of his departure
to a foreign country.
- *Citizens of member countries of SAARC and
the People’s Republic of China.
- Any foreigner, tourist entering into Nepal
for three days or less than that.
- Any foreigner, who has stayed in Nepal up
to fifteen days continuously, re-entering Nepal
during the same visa year.
